ABSTRACT

This chapter explains the origins and reasons for the gap between data analytics for project management and Scrum, and develops these problems further in a discussion on the differences between transaction processing and analytical processing application development as these are completely different project types. The agile culture is human-centered and believes in self-organizing teams. The agile world is about facing the client and responding to his requirements with pragmatism to produce practical solutions delivered rapidly in short cycles of stories that yield a concrete functional aspect of the total solution. For project managers who have no prior knowledge of application development, here’s a primer on online transactional processing (OLTP) and online analytical processing (OLAP). Library members allow people to use their data for analyzing lending history data to find links between books, music, and films that may be useful to produce recommender algorithms.
