ABSTRACT
A 10-year-old girl presents with a limp. On exam she is noted to have cellulitis of the plantar aspect of her foot. Upon further questioning, the girl admits to playing in a construction site near her home a few days ago and recalls stepping on something sharp. She was able to remove the object that punctured her tennis shoe but cannot describe what it was. Since then she has had increasing pain in the area.
