ABSTRACT

The field of sports psychology aims at assisting athletes to flourish in their sport-specific domain where the idea is to focus upon building resilience in athletes. Whereas the concept of well-being in sports further aims at developing life skills and promoting positive sporting experiences among athletes through sports participation and physical activities. However, research studies in both the domains have been context specific in nature and vulnerable to the conceptual ambiguity. Thus, demanding more explicit conceptual framework at global level. The present chapter discusses the concept and the application framework of resilience and well-being in the field of sports.
