ABSTRACT

Kaposi's sarcoma (KS) is a vascular neoplasm most commonly located on the lower extremities. KS lesions typically evolve through various stages as patches, plaques and nodules, and clinical lesions of different stages can often be seen in a single patient. The most frequent dermoscopic patterns in Kaposi's sarcoma were bluish-reddish coloration, the “rainbow pattern,” and a scaly surface. The distinctive multicolored “rainbow pattern” on polarized light dermoscopy is specific but not sensitive for the diagnosis of KS.
