ABSTRACT

The normal ferret haemogram is similar to other mammals (see Appendices 2, 3 for normal values). Anaemia is a common nding in ferrets, and morphological changes associated with a regenerative response are similar to other mammals (Fig. 16.1). As in other mammals, heterophils are typically the predominant cell type, followed by lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils and basophils.
