ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: This study examined the perception and ICT usage of students and lecturers of English study program of FKIP University of Tridinanti. It investigated how lecturers perceived ICT in teaching, whether or not lecturers used ICT in teaching, how lecturers used ICT and how students perceived ICT and responded to the use of ICT in classrooms. This study utilized a descriptive qualitative method which involved 16 lecturers and 50 students in the academic year of 2016/2017 as the samples. A questionnaire was used to collect the data. The findings revealed that the majority of lecturers and students tended to perceive ICT positively. Some other lecturers and students did not perceive and respond positively on ICT due to a lack of training, comprehension, supporting facilities and financial support. In conclusion, it was found that both lecturers and institution needed a lot of improvements to support a more effective ICT usage.
