ABSTRACT
Lochlainn O´ Raifeartaigh was an important figure in fundamental theoretical physics. He was widely respected for his many contributions to high energy physics, where he often used ideas of symmetry and group theory to great effect. The list of his published work contains over 200 entries, many in collaboration. The list of his collaborators is over 60. O´ Raifeartaigh is best known for his no-go theorem of 1965 and his discovery of a way to spontaneously break supersymmetry in 1975.
