ABSTRACT
XML, which stands for Extensible Markup Language, is a general purpose language that allows the creation of other new languages to be used in several domains. It is exible, simple, and designed to meet the challenges of large-scale electronic publishing, facilitating the exchange of data among heterogeneous computer systems (particularly over the Internet), while maintaining the capability of being human-readable.
