ABSTRACT
This paper aims then to answer the fundamental questions any potential user has once facing a challenging offshore project:
Why use a geotechnical centrifuge? Is it cheaper or more expensive than alternative investigation technique?; is it more or less reliable?; is it quicker to obtain relevant data?; does it account for behaviour aspects other techniques do not?; should it be replace or complement other techniques such as 1g reduced scale modelling or field testing?
