ABSTRACT
Offshore Geotechnics fits within a group of service industries supporting the installation, operation and decommissioning of offshore facilities. Client industries, particularly those that extract energy resources from offshore regions, regard offshore geotechnics as providing “added value”. What specifically comprises “added value” changes over time, as industry and societal knowledge bases and values change.
