In the framework of the research activity, in the present paper the attention is focused on the cyclic behaviour of a steel single story structural system, equipped with the PTED connection type proposed by Christopoulos et al. (2002a, b), such as high strength steel bars for the PT system, steel confined bars for the ED system. The main objective of the study was the evaluation of the recentring and dissipative capabilities of the system, accounting also for vertical loads, as well as the capability of the connection to transfer by friction the shear forces coming from the beam.
