1.1 About Finnish building stock

Since the 1960’s a total of approximately 44 million square metres of concrete-panel facades have been built in Finland (Vainio et al. 2005). In fact, more than 60% of the Finnish building stock has been built in the 1960’s or later. Compared with the rest of Europe, the Finnish building stock is rather young.
