Using steel fibred high strength concrete for repairing normal strength concrete beams and slabs

Ultra High Performance Fibre Reinforced Concrete (UHPFRC) has also low permeability, making it suitable for rehabilitation of existing concrete structures (Oesterlee et al., 2009). A thin layer of UHPFRC, cast on an existing normal strength concrete element, increases its load bearing capacity and serviceability. Comprehensive experimental studies on the behaviour of UHPFRC with additional bar reinforcement were also recently performed.
