ABSTRACT
One of the most popular noise reduction method is the Vector Median Filter (VMF), whose output is the vector x(1) in the ordered set and for which the sum of distances to all other vectors from W is minimized. The VMF is very efficient at removing the impulses introduced by the noise process, however it does not preserve image details and produces blurry images.
