ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we explore innovation in the global forest sector by first making the case for the “innovation imperative”—what is innovation, how does it differ from innovativeness, and how may firms, as well as the sector and the global economy, benefit from studying and pursuing innovation? We examine innovation in the global forest sector by examining the drivers of innovation and provide examples of the industry’s response to these drivers.
