In practical applications and relevant literature [11], fault causes are divided into two layers, general causes of fault that include several root causes need to be calculated and explained. For example, the cause of generator rotor short circuit fault is an integrated cause that includes root causes are manufacturer’s

problem, aging of insulation among the rotor turns, dirt enters the generator rotor, the heatsink of hydrogen cooler enters the generator rotor and conductive pollution enters the generator rotor. So the fault causes can be divided into macro level fault causes (general causes) and micro level fault causes (root causes). The micro level fault causes lead to macro level fault. When interpreting the reasoning process, a general fault is first demonstrated; afterwards the detailed fault cause is demonstrated. Fault causes of two layers can help users react quickly according to the real-time fault situation. Therefore, we define these variables types as integrated cause variables. In order to use DUCG model to express the integrated causes, we will add a new type of variable on the basis of DUCG model and introduce calculation method according to the basic DUCG theory.
