ABSTRACT

With the development of smart grid, higher and higher requirement such as the reliability, real-time, twoway, flexibility and extensibility of DA-Distribution Automation on the communication system were required. Therefore, distribution communication network has become a key part of smart grid construction. In recent years, the State Grid and China Southern Power Grid increased several distribution communication network pilot projects\[1], gradually forming two levels of access layer architecture i.e. the backbone layer based on SMTP and EPONbased wireless public network as a supplement other means of communication as additional. PON (Passive Optical Network) technology advantages of high bandwidth[2-3], point to multipoint, WDM and TDMA channel access. Its topological structure is very suitable for tree link distribution network and can maximize and meet the communication requirements. Therefore, EPON-based, wireless public network as a supplement other means of communication added access layer solution gradually become the mainstream.
