An improved back propagation neural network approach to the remote sensing land use and land cover classification

Land Use and Land Cover (LULC), which well describes the Earth’s surface is always a hot topic in last centuries. The LULC classification plays an important role on urban planning, landscape designing, change detection, environment assessment, and so on. It becomes much more important for China as its first census of geographical conditions begins. However, it costs a lot of time and money to do the LULC classification since it is very difficult for even professionals to identify LULC classes in various landscapes.
