ABSTRACT
Above bachelor degree level the opportunities for higher degrees in physical education are more limited, the principal centre being the Beijing University of Physical Education (formerly ‘Institute’ until 1994 when it was upgraded to Beijing Sports University). Beijing and now Shanghai, offer doctoral programmes.
