ABSTRACT
This chapter focuses on software tools and resources available to learners, teachers, and researchers who are interested in the study of vocabulary. First, some of the most popular vocabulary software tools and resources related to corpus data collection, vocabulary analysis and profiling, and testing are reviewed. The chapter explains their target audience, discusses their strengths and limitations, and shows examples of how they have been used in the published literature. Next, some recently developed software tools and resources are introduced that can facilitate new vocabulary research in areas such as social media discourse and historical language studies. The chapter concludes by discussing current trends in the field and the likely demands that these will have on future vocabulary software tool and resource design.
