ABSTRACT

This chapter describes efforts by faculty and students on a regional public New Jersey university campus to provide support for undocumented students and workers in the post-2016 election context. The campus has been designated as a Hispanic-serving institution and almost a third of its students are the first in their family to attend college. Starting in January 2017, faculty from various departments and students established the Committee to Support Undocumented Students and Workers. The committee has pursued multiple goals in an attempt to meet the needs of undocumented students and workers facing an ever-changing political context.
