ABSTRACT

Chapter 4 explores the design of learning in future higher education, focusing on prospects for the development of online education. After framing the value of analyzing online and mobile education, the chapter articulates the nature of online learning and related mechanisms. These ideas are given life through three case studies from AUA member universities. A range of suggestions are distilled from these cases. The chapter’s concluding observations concern the need to give more consideration to incorporating advanced technologies into augmented educational practices.
