ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts covered in the preceding chapters of this book. The book provides a conversation for which we have yet to find a common language, a shared grammar. It describes regular swings from optimism to pessimism as a circular conundrum; a continual cycle of hope and despair unless and until an independent mind breaks the cycle. The book presents a report greater resilience to droughts and floods, security of income, time for families and friends and personal satisfaction. It argues for a post-normal reconciliation between members of different cultures, ages, religions, and regions, grounded in multifaceted postmodern science. Learning to become a skilled independent multidimensional thinker requires a supportive society in which individuals are free to attend some form of open-minded public education. Emergent properties are generated through collaborative learning, independent thinking and openness to change.
