ABSTRACT

This concluding chapter reviews and integrates the points of convergence and divergence in this Handbook and the extant literatures on learning from multiple representations and learning from multiple perspectives. Our efforts resulted in the proposal of an integrated theoretical framework, the Multiple Resources Learning Framework (MRLF). The MRLF identifies five dimensions that are central to multiple resources learning: Context, Task and Resources, Learner Characteristics, Learner Processes, and Construction. The goal of the MRLF is to stimulate new lines of research by identifying theoretical and conceptual gaps at the intersections of these literatures.
