ABSTRACT

This chapter summarizes the conceptual and methodological approaches used in the ten case studies that form part of this edited collection. It reflects on some of the shared underlying salient concepts in these research studies based in eight countries, including the United States, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Australia, Israel, India, and Japan. Despite the wide-ranging case studies based in varying social and political environments, the reporting of sexual violence in the #MeToo 2.0 era raises the often-asked key question for journalism: Whose voice is heard in the media? This chapter considers the prospect of journalism being an agent of social change by adopting a more constructive style of journalism practice, such as solutions journalism and campaign journalism.
