The role of sports coach is multifaceted, with responsibilities as trainer, teacher, friend, motivator and disciplinarian, sometimes requiring a enactment all at once (Davids, Button, & Bennett, 2008). From a movement performance perspective, coaches mentor and teach the physical, mental, technical, tactical and social skills that empower athletes to perform (Farrow, Baker, & MacMahon, 2013).
