ABSTRACT

Hyderabad, the capital city of Telangana and erstwhile Andhra Pradesh, with its monumental wonder Charminar and sprawling Hussain Sagar Lake, is one of the most beautiful destinations for any discerning traveller. Little wonder, then, Malayalees have also arrived in large numbers and settled here. Shri Nair was a renowned writer in Malayalam who was equally proficient in Telugu. Rajesh Touchriver (M. S. Rajesh) hails from Idukki district of Kerala and has settled in Hyderabad. A large number of nursing staff and paramedical staff belonging to Kerala started joining the various hospitals in the city. As Sabarimala temple draws huge crowds from Hyderabad-Secunderabad year after year, the Ayyappa cult has spread in the city mainly because of the rationalities associated with it, like treating every Ayyappa followers as equal irrespective of caste, creed, social status, etc. Naveena Samskarika Kala Kendram (NSKK) has been the oldest Malayalee-owned educational institution in the twin cities.
