ABSTRACT
Needless to say, I am enormously honored by this book and tribute and indebted to the editors of, and the many contributors to, this volume—all of whom are very special to me. When offered the privilege of writing something of my own, I was in a quandary about what to craft, as I did not want to go over ground, topics, or theories covered in the proceeding chapters. My solution, given my well-cited works had already been given attention, was to highlight published research that never really made it “into the charts”; a balancing act, if you like. In what follows, and first providing a backdrop to the kinds of topics I have studied over the years, I contextualize a selection of models that I contend still have currency, social significance, and could use further mining. In so doing, I focus on three such frameworks (together with allied research questions), finally moving to a unique area of study that I think could be intriguing.
