ABSTRACT

Living in energy poverty has important lifelong consequences for the health and wellbeing of children and young people, and while these consequences have been examined to some extent, the experiences of children and young people have not been well explored in energy poverty research. We make the case in this chapter for more detailed investigation into the experiences and vulnerabilities of children and young people to energy poverty. We advocate using participatory research to include children and young people in the research process to enhance the depth and meaning of energy poverty research.
