ABSTRACT
In this chapter, the authors provide information and background related to the use of tests and assessments in a K-12 setting. The authors include discussion of specific ways school counselors use assessments to aid in student success. Further, this chapter provides reader with both the scope of competence of school counselors and tests and assessments as well as legal and ethical considerations. Through a vivid case analysis, the authors review the ways in which a professional school counselor uses tests and assessments with a specific client.
