ABSTRACT

We are facing a new global era of a complex, interdependent, and interconnected world full of different realities. This chapter focuses on the use of Project Zero frameworks to give young learners and their emerging identities lifelong learning opportunities to meet the challenges that they will confront. A project about “The Doctor and His Friends” engaged the children in enriching and significant experiences from which they learned and interpreted the world through their own lenses. It documents the 3.5 to 4-year-old children’s learning experiences about professional health experts, the body and its functions, and emotional and physical health. Most of all, it shows how they learned valuable dispositions for their lives. These young learners skillfully thought with everything they learned, made their thinking visible, and constructed meaningful and useful understandings of the topic.
