ABSTRACT

Centrophryne spinulosa is the only species of this family recognized in the WCNA, but is also found worldwide. Females to 23 cm (SL), males to 1.3 cm (SL) (Pietsch 2003i). Centrophrynidae is believed to possess free-living, nonparasitic males. However no spent females or females with obvious denticular teeth scarring have been observed. Larval are sexually dimorphic and sexual dimorphism of the illicium is evident.
