Written reports vary in length from a single page to hundreds of pages. The length of a report depends on the type of report and the specific nature of each study.
A research proposal is, in most cases, the first document to be written in any investigation. It should focus on the problem to be addressed, work done so far, strategy of the investigation, suggested schedule, organizations involved, and required budget. A research proposal should be brief and contain only the most important points.
