ABSTRACT
The issues of population management have prompted researchers and developers to look at better ways to manage resources in cities. To maximize resource utilization in metropolitan areas, the smart city concept was born. Due to the increasing importance of digital technologies in the smart city environment, a digital identification solution for all components is necessary. All entities, physical and intangible assets, procedures, and most importantly, residents must be included in the solution. Thus, this chapter examines digital identities in smart cities. This chapter also discusses the importance of blockchain technology in digital identities.
