ABSTRACT
Diffusion bonding is a solid-state process that occurs through the interdiffusion of atoms across the joining interface. The formation of the bonds results from the closure of the mating surfaces due to applied pressure at an elevated temperature that promotes interdiffusion at the surface layers of the materials being joined.
