ABSTRACT

Executive summary: The term “mashup development” is fairly new and refers to Web 2.0 applications that are created using pieces of existing web applications. Although a new methodology, mashups are very popular and have rapidly increasing tools sets. Their popularity has led to dozens of conferences all over the world. IBM has become a major tool vendor to the mashup community. While mashups are a form of reuse, the term tends to be used mainly for Web 2.0 applications rather than general software products.
