ABSTRACT

Executive summary: Merise is an older methodology that was developed and used primarily in France for mainframe applications during the 1970s and 1980s. It is rarely seen today, and is almost never seen outside of France or French territories. Merise was heavily influenced by data-oriented approaches associated with the advent of re databases. Merise relies heavily on up-front planning and modeling. As such, Merise is a “heavy” methodology and by no means a “light” methodology.
