ABSTRACT
As shown in Figure 5.1, product purification is a key step in downstream process development. One objective of the purification process is to remove residual host cell DNA so as to mitigate its potential risk to the patient. The assessment of the effectiveness of DNA removal relies on experimental design and statistical analysis. For this purpose, several statistical methods have been developed. We begin with some background of the issue before introducing these statistical techniques.
