ABSTRACT
A glance at the mass spectrum reveals that the molecular ion (m/z = 94) easily loses ethylene to provide the base peak at m/z 66 (M-28). Another recognizable fragment corresponds to a loss of methyl radical (m/z 79, M-15), thus suggesting that the molecule is a hydrocarbon, or at least it has an alkyl chain.
