ABSTRACT
We are probably dealing with a nitrogen compound because the molecular ion shows up at m/z 301 in the EI-MS spectrum. The base peak corresponds to a fragmentation, resulting in the release of a propyl or acetyl unit (m/z 286, M+-43). This ion subsequently loses 28 mass units, possibly carbon monoxide or ethylene.
