ABSTRACT

Biochemical reactions, which are at the heart of bioenergetics, obey the same rules as the chemical ones, although they evolve in somewhat still more restrained conditions than the latter. At first sight, the study of reactions between perfect gases does not seem to be of great interest for us given the fact that biochemical reactions of bioenergetics take place in cells, in particular, in solution. However, in our opinion, such a study is interesting, at least from the educational standpoint. The expression escaping tendency is due to G. N. Lewis. It is the tendency of a substance to leave its thermodynamic state by either a chemical or a physical process.
