ABSTRACT

As the derivative is the essential component in the formulation of an ODE, integration is the essential tool for its solution. However, finding a solution to an ODE by integration is not always possible, apart of the following classes of ODEs discussed in this chapter. In particular, the method of variation of the constants, as well as classical techniques to solve the Bernoulli’s and Riccati’s equations are presented. The framework of exact differential equations is illustrated.
