ABSTRACT
Industrial and scientic developments in the latter decades have made achievable to visualise metabolic processes within the human body. These imaging modalities, such as positron emission tomography (PET), allow in vivo evaluation of radiolabelled compounds, by recognition of emitted radiation from the patient. Pharmaceuticals, indeed, interact with the tissue through a metabolic process and the isotopes allow to track, map, and measure it.
