ABSTRACT
It is not necessary for contractors to become medical professionals, but it is necessary to know enough about the human body to anticipate hazardous conditions that could cause severe or even permanent injury. This section will provide construction personnel with an overview of appropriate personal protective equipment. Each chemical hazard has its own set of characteristics that impact the human body. It is the understanding of these characteristics that is necessary to make an informed decision on personal protective equipment for each specific hazard.
