ABSTRACT
The title of this book, Valuation of Ecological Resources, begs the question of the definition of “value” and, consequently, what it means to value a resource. This, in turn, raises questions of who is doing the valuing, on whose behalf, and for what purpose, and how values (once ascertained) will influence decision-making processes.
