ABSTRACT

An 8-week-old Hispanic baby girl, who is formula fed, is brought to the emergency department by her parents for 5 days of vomiting, increasing steadily in frequency. Within the last 24 hours, the baby has had projectile emesis after each feed. She was born at term by spontaneous vaginal delivery after an uncomplicated pregnancy. She had only minor episodes of regurgitation during the first 7 weeks of life and stooled 3–4 times per day. The parents have noted decreased frequency of urination in the last 24 hours.
