ABSTRACT

A previously healthy 10-month-old Caucasian male infant is brought to see his pediatrician for a 3-day history of dry cough, congestion, and fever. The exam reveals an active baby with mild tachypnea, rhinorrhea, and temperature of 39.2°C. The pediatrician orders the chest x-ray shown in Figure 52.1 to rule out pneumonia. An incidental mediastinal mass is discovered.
