ABSTRACT
This chapter presents the main issues related to Integrated Urban Water Management (IUWM) and their relevance within the humid tropics. Issues include urban development, climatic conditions, the various components of urban water services, and the impact of lack of these services on human and environmental health. The chapter also includes a discussion of the institutional aspects of IUWM, which act as the basis for implementation of these concepts in society.
