ABSTRACT

Transport means of today (e.g. vehicles, trains, ships, aircrafts, etc.) are very sophisticated and complex industrial products. Their reliability and safety is highly dependent upon their components. The basic influences during the development of an industrial product component are material (necessary for its production), energy (necessary for production and return of the component into the environment), time (needed for the development and production) and living space (environment with the ecological requirements). In accordance with the presently valid definition an industrial product is considered improper when, during its intended use, the product does not ensure required action on the basis of all the conditions and knowledge at the time when it was brought into use.
