ABSTRACT
Since the parametric roll phenomenon is caused by the time variation of transverse stability, the numerical simulation method must be able to adequately model the changes of geometry of the immersed part of the hull due to large waves and ship motions (Belenky et al. 2003). The results confirmed that the vessel suffered from a severe case of parametric roll during the storm (Shin et al. 2004).
